TOPLINE:
I’m a senior video editor and creative with 15+ years of experience across branded content, commercials, and doc-style projects. Now based in Japan and available for remote freelance work.

Over the years I’ve worked with all kinds of clients; from energy drinks and luxury fashion to fintech and professional services, delivering everything from feature films and TV commercials to brand documentaries and social content.

The projects change, but the approach stays the same: clear storytelling, calmness under pressure, and a genuine love for what I do.

I’m comfortable jumping between edit-heavy jobs, motion graphics projects, or stepping in on creative direction, pitching, and the occasional foray into producing.

Rates: £350–£450/day ($475–$600), with weekly and project-based rates available.
A BIT OF HISTORY:
I joined the industry in 2011, right as Final Cut lost its crown, social aspect ratios went from after thoughts to essential, and average runtimes shrank. I’ve ridden the changes and adapted ever since.

I took on motion graphics out of necessity and ended up enjoying the creative control it offered. With time, I moved into more senior roles; leading teams, building workflows, and handling infrastructure decisions.

I also found my voice as an editor, shifting from technician to trusted creative partner. That shift eventually led me to co-found my own company, Velvet Pig, during the pandemic (terrible timing, great experience).

Running a small agency meant wearing every hat; pitching, producing, editing, learning fast, and adapting faster. I’m proud of the work we delivered, but after four years I realised I got more from the creative than the business side. So we wound things down, and I shifted back to hands-on roles.

After Velvet Pig, I joined Transmission as a Senior Editor, supporting a growing team that was stretched thin. I helped lighten the load, brought structure and delivery knowledge, and became a calm, dependable part of the post team.

Across my career I’ve led teams, fixed messy workflows, mentored juniors, and delivered under pressure. No drama. No ego. Just solid work, even when things go sideways.
THE FUTURE:
My latest adventure has brought me to Japan. I'm immersing myself in the culture, language and of course the food. I've also picked up an FX3 and other equipment and plan to fully explore my new surroundings and the new opportunities for creativity.

Outside of client projects, I experiment with my own YouTube channels and try to keep things from getting stale by playing with new tools and techniques (hopefully that didn’t sound too cliché).

I’m open to freelance gigs, both direct-to-client and agency-side. Always happy to chat.
